Meet the Sokol Blosser Team: Consumer Sales Specialist Sarah Dugard-Smith
Can you tell me a
little bit about your background and how you ended up in the wine industry?
I moved out here to Portland from Colorado 6 years ago to attend the Le Cordon Bleu and received my Associates Degree in Baking and Patisserie. In 2011 I moved to wine country where I met my husband and worked at a small hotel in the heart of Dundee. I really enjoy drinking wine and wanted to further my knowledge so I took a big chance and applied at Sokol Blosser Winery and was hired on as a support member. I quickly took steps to learn more and am now a Consumer Sales Specialist and still am learning new things about wine every day.
What first got you
interested in wine?
I enjoy drinking wine and living in wine country enhanced my interest in it.
What do you love
about Pinot Noir?
I love how it is always changing, whether it is the vintage or climate. No two pinot noirs taste the same.
What is your favorite
Sokol Blosser wine and what food are you enjoying it with?
This summer I really enjoyed our 2014 Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, and drank it with lots of BBQ.
What is your favorite part about working at Sokol Blosser?
I love my co-workers, and being able to talk to new people every day. We have a fun environment here at Sokol Blosser and I love that every person that walks in or I talk to on the phone has their own story to share. Making those connections makes work super fun for me.
When you’re not working what do enjoy doing?
I love being a mom. My kids are first in my life and I enjoy being there for them. I also enjoy baking and making delicious goodies.
