It Must Be Something In The Air…

It is well known that we have a few vineyard dogs wandering around the winery, but not everyone is aware that at Sokol Blosser we have vineyard cats as well. This independent brother and sister feline duo sunbathe in the courtyard, take naps on the roof above the tasting room and are experts in rodent control. It’s a good life being a vineyard cat.

We were recently asked by a curious customer how old these little kitties are. Approaching her eight year anniversary at the winery, Brooke replied that they were full grown when she started working at Sokol Blosser and guessed they must be at least 9 or 10 years old. The customer was floored upon hearing their true age, “Wow, are they really ten years old? They look really young”! Without skipping a beat Brooke replies, “That’s vineyard life for you!” with a smile.

We thought about it after our guests had left. Here at the winery we all look pretty young for our true age. It really must be something in the air… or maybe it’s that earthy Jory volcanic soil… or the gorgeous, relaxed country landscape… or all the wonderful wine. Or maybe it’s all the above. Whatever it is, the vineyard lifestyle is infectious and rubs off on all of us. We encourage you to drop your expensive anti-aging face cream and spend an afternoon here and feel younger yourself.
